Golden Eagle Speed (Aquila chrysaetos)

The golden eagle ranks among the most powerful raptors in the Northern Hemisphere. In cruise flight it holds a steady 45–70 km/h. Send it into a hunting stoop, the folded-wing dive, and it pushes up to 240–320 km/h, beaten only by the peregrine falcon. Speed comes from v = d / t.
