Name Picker

Draw a name from a list without repetition. Ideal for raffles, secret santa and giveaways.

How to use?

Type the names, one per line, and click Draw a name. Each name comes up only once, never repeating. Whenever you want to start fresh, use the Restart button.

Draw a name from a list

Need to pick a giveaway winner, set the presentation order or organise a Secret Santa? A name picker handles it in seconds. Paste or type your list, click, and the tool draws a name at random, completely impartially.

Because the draw is without repetition, you keep pulling names in a row with nobody coming up twice. Handy for setting a queue of winners or forming pairs. It also works for prize draws, raffles, team activities and any situation where the pick has to be fair.

Your list stays only in your browser and the draw runs locally, sending nothing to servers. It's quick, transparent, and you can repeat it as many times as you want.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after the last name on the list is drawn?
Each draw pulls that name out of the queue and the remaining counter drops. When it reaches zero, the next click refills the queue from whatever sits in the text box at that moment and a fresh round starts. The numbered history keeps stacking on screen, so you can see where one round ended and the next began. The reset button wipes queue, counter and history in one go.
If I edit the list mid-draw, do the new names take part?
Not in the round already running. The list is read on the first click and turned into an internal queue, so adding or deleting lines in the text box after that does not change who can still come up. To make the edit count, hit reset and start over, or wait for the queue to empty: the next round reads the text box again as it stands.
Does repeating the same name on two lines double its chances?
Yes. Every non-empty line is a separate entry, so a name typed twice takes two slots in the queue and can come up twice in the same round. That is the way to weight someone. Stray spaces and blank lines are dropped when the list is read. The draw uses the browser own random number generator, fine for informal picks, but it produces no auditable record for a regulated prize promotion.
