See the social card before you publish

You share a link and the card shows the wrong image or a chopped-off title, and since Facebook and LinkedIn cache previews, the fix takes a while to show up. This page lets you test first: fill in og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url and og:site_name and watch the Facebook, Twitter/X and LinkedIn cards update as you type. The finished block of meta tags, ready to paste into your page head, is assembled right below the form.

Each network truncates text at a different point, and that is what the preview simulates: titles at 60 characters on Facebook and 70 on Twitter/X and LinkedIn; descriptions at 160, 200 and 120 respectively. The same copy can fit on one card and get cut on another. The tool also fills in what most people forget: og:type set to website, plus the twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description and twitter:image tags, generated from the same fields.

Use an image of at least 1200 by 630 pixels, the ratio Facebook recommends for the large format. If the image does not show up, check that its URL is public: your own browser fetches it straight from that server. Nothing you type leaves the page. One limit worth knowing: the tool builds the card from what you enter; it does not scrape tags from a page that is already live. To audit a published link, view the page source or run it through Facebook's Sharing Debugger.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't my image load in the preview?
Your browser requests the image directly from the URL you entered. If it requires a login, blocks hotlinking or points to an internal address, it will not render here, and it probably will not render on the social networks either.
Does this read the tags from an existing site?
No. You fill in the fields yourself and see the result. To inspect a live page, open its source and look for the og: tags, or use the network's own sharing debugger.
What about WhatsApp?
WhatsApp reads the same Open Graph tags, so the Facebook card is a close approximation of what will appear in the chat.
