How old would you be on other planets?

A year is the time the Earth takes to orbit the Sun, but every planet keeps its own rhythm. On Mercury the year flies by. On Neptune, it drags on for more than a terrestrial century. This tool calculates how old you would be on each planet of the solar system.

Starting from your age on Earth and each world's orbital period, it shows your "age" on Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and even Pluto. It's a curious bit of fun that helps you feel how relative time is out there, and you also find out you haven't even turned one year old on Saturn.

The calculation runs in the browser. Worth it as an astronomy curiosity for kids, science lessons, or just to scratch that itch to know.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the number on each planet come from?
From dividing your lifetime in Earth years by the planet's orbital period. The Earth year used here runs 365.25 days, and the periods are the sidereal ones: Mercury 0.2408, Venus 0.6152, Mars 1.8808, Jupiter 11.8626, Saturn 29.4475, Uranus 84.0168, Neptune 164.7913 and Pluto 247.9207. Earth gets a card of its own in the list, and its number matches the age you already know.
Why is the Mercury figure so high and the Neptune one so low?
Because each card counts laps around the Sun, and every planet takes a different stretch of time to finish one. Mercury wraps up an orbit in under a quarter of our year, so someone aged 40 here has already run about 166 laps there. Neptune sits at the other extreme, near 165 Earth years per orbit, and that same 40-year-old reads 0.24 — nobody lives long enough to celebrate a Neptunian birthday.
Does the result count as a real age?
It is your age measured in orbits around the Sun, and nothing beyond that. Rotation stays out of it: on Venus a day lasts longer than a year, and the tool ignores that detail entirely. It will not give the date of your next birthday on each world, will not work out your weight under other gravities, and has no guard against future dates — type a day that has yet to arrive and all nine cards turn negative.
