Mega-Sena Number Generator

Generate random number combinations for the Brazilian Mega-Sena lottery with 6 to 15 unique numbers between 1 and 60.

About Mega-Sena

Run by Caixa Econômica Federal, Mega-Sena is the biggest lottery in the country. A player marks 6 to 15 numbers, within the 01 to 60 range, and takes the prize by hitting 4 numbers (quadra), 5 (quina) or 6 (sena).

As a rule, the draws happen on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. What this tool does is put together random games, lending a hand when you're picking your numbers.

The Mega-Sena lottery in numbers

The Mega-Sena is the largest lottery run by Brazil's federal bank, Caixa Econômica Federal. It launched in 1996 and has since paid the biggest jackpots in Brazilian gambling history. Every bet consists of picking between 6 and 15 numbers from 1 to 60; the official draw — six balls — happens every Wednesday and Saturday at 20:00 (Brasília time) and is broadcast live by the operator. The flagship event is the Mega da Virada on 31 December, whose prize pool cannot accumulate and must be paid out the same night.

Real odds of winning

The number of distinct 6-number combinations out of 60 is the binomial coefficient C(60,6) = 50,063,860. So a simple ticket with the minimum 6 dozens has roughly 1 in 50 million odds of hitting the Sena. Adding numbers multiplies the chances at a steep price — a 7-number ticket covers C(7,6) = 7 combinations and costs seven times more, lifting the odds to about 1 in 7.15 million. The secondary prizes are easier: hitting five numbers (Quina) has odds of roughly 1 in 154,000, and four (Quadra) about 1 in 2,332.

Prize split and taxes

Caixa publishes the official split: roughly 35.03% of the prize pool goes to Sena winners, 19% to the Quina, 19% to the Quadra, and the remainder rolls over plus funds the special end-of-year draws. Lottery winnings in Brazil above R$ 2,640 (2026 reference) are subject to a flat 30% income tax withheld at source.

Why "lucky numbers" do not work

Every draw is statistically independent: a number that came up last week is exactly as likely to come up again as any other. The myth of hot and cold numbers does not survive contact with probability theory. The only honest strategy is the sociological one — if you do win the jackpot with an "obvious" sequence like 1,2,3,4,5,6, you will almost certainly split the prize with thousands of other players who picked the same pattern. Choosing numbers above 31 helps you avoid the heavy overlap caused by people betting birthdays.

FAQ

Is this tool official? No. We are not affiliated with Caixa or with the Loterias Caixa app. The tool simply produces uniformly random 6-to-15 number combinations that you can then take to any authorised lottery shop or the official app.

Does it avoid combinations that already came out? No. Past results have zero predictive value on future draws, so filtering them would not change your odds. Each generated game is a fresh random pick.

Are common sequences worse? They have the same probability of winning, but a much higher probability of being shared. Random unique combinations are mathematically equivalent but practically smarter if you want the full prize.
