Brazilian Pharmacist Fee (CRF)

Computes a referential Brazilian pharmacist service fee per CRF table.

Pharmacist professional fees in Brazil (CRF/CFF)

Pharmacist fees in Brazil follow reference tables that each Regional Pharmacy Council (CRF) publishes, with the Federal Pharmacy Council (CFF) pulling them together. Most pricing is either time-based or per-service, worked out as fee = hours × hourly_rate or sold as fixed bundles for a given clinical pharmacy service. A clinical pharmacy consultation tends to land somewhere between R$ 80 and R$ 250, which shifts with the region, how complex the case is, and whether pharmacotherapy follow-up is part of it.

Recognised pharmaceutical services cover the PIM model — Pesquisa (research), Avaliação (assessment) and Acompanhamento Farmacoterapêutico (pharmacotherapy follow-up), along with medication reconciliation, capillary glucose and pressure measurement, vaccination and adherence counseling. RDC ANVISA 44/2009 put these attributions on paper, and Lei 13.021/2014 classified the pharmacy as a health establishment, which pushed the pharmacist's clinical role well past simple dispensing.

Applications

Pricing private clinical pharmacy consultations, drawing up contracts with clinics or long-term care facilities, setting technical responsibility (RT) agreements at pharmacies, drugstores and compounding labs, writing expert opinions, finding price references for public tenders, and budgeting home pharmaceutical care programmes.

FAQ

Is the CRF fee table mandatory? No. Think of it as a reference. The council suggests minimum values to keep prices from being undercut, but the final number is something the pharmacist and client settle between themselves.

Can the pharmacist prescribe medication? Yes. Under CFF Resolution 586/2013, the pharmacist can prescribe non-prescription drugs, and prescription drugs too when working inside collaborative protocols.

How is technical responsibility (RT) priced? RT usually comes as a monthly retainer that varies with the region and the size of the establishment, and it sits apart from the per-service clinical fees.
