About the holidays
The list shows the national holidays set by federal law. The fixed ones (Christmas, Independence Day and others) always fall on the same date. The moveable ones, like Carnival, Good Friday, Easter and Corpus Christi, derive from the Easter date, found with the Anonymous Gregorian algorithm.
The whole calculation runs inside the browser itself, with no calls to any server. Worth noting that Black Consciousness Day (Nov 20) became a national holiday back in 2023, under Law 14,759/2023.
A calendar with Brazil's holidays
Planning a trip or a long weekend gets a lot simpler when you can see all twelve months at once, with the holidays already marked. This calendar shows the whole year on a single page and highlights Brazil's national holidays, so nothing catches you off guard.
It covers the fixed-date holidays, like Christmas and Tiradentes, and also the movable ones that shift every year and are harder to remember. Carnival, Good Friday, Easter and Corpus Christi all show up here, derived from the date of Easter. Navigate between years to check past dates or plan ahead.
The whole calculation happens in the browser, so once it has loaded the calendar works even without a connection. It's a quick reference for when you want to spot bridge days and long weekends.
