Psychologist fees (CRP) calculator

In Brazil, psychology fees follow reference tables that each regional council publishes. These councils are the CRPs (Conselhos Regionais de Psicologia), which answer to the federal CFP. Every region sets its own minimum reference values, covering individual sessions as well as couple, family and group work, plus psychological assessments and reports. As of 2024, an individual consultation usually runs from R$ 120 to R$ 350, and a standard psicoterapia session lasts 50 minutes. To get the cost of a full course of treatment you multiply sessions × unit_fee and add whatever you charge for reports or written documents.

If you go through a private health plan, ANS rules usually guarantee 12 to 24 sessions per year, and that ceiling can be raised when there's clinical justification. Online care falls under CFP Resolução 11/2018, which updated the older Resolução 11/2012; the psychologist has to be registered in e-Psi and work on platforms that keep sessions confidential. The public system offers the same care for free through CAPS (Centro de Atenção Psicossocial), UBS units and the RAPS mental-health network.

Applications

Psychologists use it to price sessions and packages, clinics to negotiate with insurers, and patients to work out what ongoing therapy will cost them. HR teams lean on it when sizing mental-health benefits, and it gives couples or families a way to budget for joint sessions.

FAQ

Is the CRP table mandatory? Think of it as a reference floor. Charging far below it can raise ethical questions, while anything above is something you and the client agree on in the therapeutic contract.

How long does a session last? A standard psicoterapia session runs 50 minutes. Psychological assessments and reports get billed on their own and tend to take longer.

Is online therapy allowed? Yes. CFP Resolução 11/2018 requires the psychologist to be registered in e-Psi and to use platforms that protect both confidentiality and the client's data.
