How many photos for a wedding album?

A normal wedding shoot tends to come back with 100-150 photos from the getting-ready (making of), another 200-300 from the ceremony, and 400-600 from the reception. Add it up and you're past 1,000+ raw frames without much effort. The printed album is a different animal. It gets trimmed down to 60-100 final photos spread across roughly 30 spreads, which works out to about 2 photos per spread. A handy rule is final photos โ‰ˆ pages ร— 2 to 3, which keeps the story moving while still leaving the pages room to breathe.

Applications

Wedding photographers reach for this when they're scoping delivery packages. Professional studios like Mr Wonderful, Photobook and Albumepic use it to size physical or digital albums, and couples lean on it when planning a fotolivro or a hybrid print-plus-digital deliverable.

FAQ

Why not include every photo? An album is a curated story, and near-duplicate frames just water it down. That's why most studios stop at 100 photos even on their premium packages.

Single vs double-page spreads? Give the hero shots a full spread of their own, the kiss and the first dance especially. Group photos and detail shots look better packed 2-4 to a page.

What about a digital gallery? Hand over the 1,000+ selects as a digital gallery and keep the album for the curated 60-100. That split is pretty much how premium packages are built across the industry.
