K/D
—
Reading a K/D ratio honestly
You finished the session with 47 kills and 31 deaths and you want the number your friends will compare. It is one division, but nobody does it in their head while arguing about who carried the team. Type your kills and your deaths and you get the K/D ratio, meaning how many kills you average for each time you go down. It works for CS, Valorant, Call of Duty or any game that tracks both numbers.
How to read it: 1.0 is one kill per death, 2.0 is twice that, and 0.7 means you die more often than you frag. Assists are not included, so this is plain K/D rather than KDA, and in team games the number understates support players. Division by zero follows a convention here: with 0 deaths the tool returns your kill count instead of showing an error or infinity, which is what most stat trackers do as well.
A single match tells you almost nothing, since one bad round across 20 deaths drags the whole average down. Pool a few dozen matches, and split them by mode and by season, because mixing ranked with casual muddies the reading. When the division is not exact the output shows several decimal places, so round to two the way in-game profiles do. The math happens in your browser and none of your numbers are sent anywhere.
