Forca: Animais

Sometimes you just want a quick hangman round with no signup and a fixed theme, either to kill five minutes or to play with a kid who is learning animal names. The word comes from a list of 15 animals and shows up as dashes. You click letters on the A-Z keyboard the page builds, and every letter that is not in the word adds one miss, with six allowed before the round ends.

One thing surprises first-time players: the animal names are Portuguese, uppercase and stripped of accents. LEAO shows up spelled that way, and so does HIPOPOTAMO, so do not look for accented keys because the keyboard only has plain A-Z. Each letter you click leaves the keyboard whether it hits or misses, and a letter that appears twice in the word is revealed in both spots at once. There is no gallows drawing, just a miss counter like 3/6.

Start with vowels, since A, E, O and I cover almost every word on the list. With only 15 words, seeing the same animal twice in a row is normal: each draw is independent and does not skip what already came up. After the sixth miss the word is revealed, but the keyboard stays clickable, so hit the restart button (labeled Reiniciar) instead of clicking on in a finished round. It all runs in your browser.
