Working Days Until Date

Compute how many working days (Mon-Fri) until a date. Option: subtract Brazilian national holidays.

What counts and what gets left out

How many working days until the project deadline, a payment due date or your vacation? Counting by hand across weekends is asking for an off-by-one. Pick the target date here and you instantly see how many working days (Monday to Friday) and how many calendar days lie between today and then. A checkbox, on by default, also subtracts Brazil's fixed-date national holidays that fall inside the range.

Conventions that matter: the count runs from today through the target date including both ends, and the holidays subtracted are the eight Brazilian fixed-date national ones (Jan 1, Apr 21, May 1, Sep 7, Oct 12, Nov 2, Nov 15 and Dec 25). Left out: movable holidays such as Good Friday, Carnival and Corpus Christi (the last two are optional days off at the federal level, not holidays), November 20 (national since 2024) and any state or city holiday.

Treat the number as a solid estimate and check the local calendar when precision matters: a municipal or movable holiday inside the range changes the total. For court deadlines, official counting rules have their own quirks (the starting day is excluded, and there are suspensions), so use the result as a reference only. Past dates show a warning instead of a negative number, and the whole computation happens in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Does the count include today and the final day?
Yes, both ends count when they are working days. If your convention starts counting tomorrow, subtract 1 from the result whenever today is a working day.
Are Carnival and Corpus Christi subtracted?
No. The built-in list has only the eight fixed-date Brazilian national holidays; movable ones are left out, as are November 20 and state or municipal holidays. Subtract those yourself if they fall in your range.
Does Saturday count as a working day?
No: the tool treats Monday through Friday as working days. That matches banking conventions, but retail and some industries do work Saturdays, so adjust if that is your case.
