Play Tetris in the browser

Tetris is one of those games that just don't age. Fit the falling pieces, form lines, clear them, all at a pace that only speeds up. This playable version brings the classic experience straight to the browser. You install nothing.

The arrows move the piece, the up arrow rotates and the spacebar drops it all at once. Scoring follows the classic NES table. The level climbs every ten lines cleared, so the fall gets faster and the challenge does too. Learn it in a minute, never put it down.

Since the game runs entirely in the browser, there's no sign-up and nothing to download. Start a round and see how far your coordination and strategy take you.

Frequently asked questions

What are the game controls?
Left and right arrows move the piece, the down arrow speeds up the fall (earning 1 point per row), the up arrow rotates clockwise — with a small automatic nudge off the wall when the rotation does not fit — and the spacebar drops the piece instantly, worth 2 points per row travelled. The game starts on its own when the page loads, and the Iniciar / Reiniciar button (start/restart) resets everything at any moment. It is keyboard only: with no touch buttons, playing on a phone is off the table.
How do scoring and speed work?
Clearing 1, 2, 3 or 4 lines at once is worth 40, 100, 300 or 1200 points, multiplied by the current level — the classic NES table. The level starts at 1 and climbs every 10 cleared lines; each level shaves 40 milliseconds off the drop interval, which starts at half a second and bottoms out at the 80 ms cap, reached at level 12. On top of that come the drop bonuses: 1 point per row on a soft drop with the down arrow, and 2 per row on the instant spacebar drop.
Is there a pause? Does the score get saved anywhere?
There is no dedicated pause, but switching tabs freezes the game in practice, since the animation only runs while the tab is visible — come back and the piece continues where it stopped. The score is stored nowhere: points, lines and level show at the top during the round and reset on restart or page reload; there is no ranking or local best either. One detail: while the page is open, the arrows and spacebar are reserved for the game, so keyboard scrolling stops working on that tab.
